The UFA provides certification for the number of hours young people participate in UFA activities. These are based on Black (25 hours), Bronze (50 hours), Silver (75 hours) and Gold (for special achievements recommended by the tutor) Award levels
"Stepping Stones" Award
The Ufa can provide this ASDAN Award certifcate for Primary aged Children. Please contact the office for more details.
The UFA has a bespoke ASDAN Peer Tutor Short Course Award. This award carries accredited learning status and is available at 30 hours (3 credits) and 60 hours (6 credits). The credits gained from the Peer Tutoring Award can then be used towards the ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) which is a GCSE equivalent qualification worth a Grade E/F at Level 1 and Grade B at Level 2. This qualification in total requires 120 hours (12 credits) and the completion of 6 assessed units. If a 6 credit Peer Tutoring Award, for example, is used towards CoPE then only 6 more credits and the assessed units will have to be completed to obtain a CoPE qualification.
It is also possible to use the UFA Peer Tutor Award as a curriculum vehicle to assess any of the three Wider Key Skills. These are also qualifications and each one is worth 0.75 of a GCSE and are available at Level 1, 2 and 3.
Braunstone, Leicester co-developed a UFA Learning Passport for their young people to record their achievements in extended learning activities outside of school. The young people recorded qualities and attitudes to learning which are not measurable by test or exams. The qualities are grouped into Me, Me & Others and Me & My Community and include organisation, bouncing back, knowing myself, building relationships working with other. Young people have found the passports useful as it has enabled them to record their own learning journeys and set their own targets.
Certificates can be requested through our online shop at a cost of £0.50 each.
