It’s a packed summer of activity for UFA as the first waves of young people taking part in our NCS programme are already making the most of the sunshine and enjoying the fun and challenges NCS brings.
Our UFA teams are working with young people across the country from Suffolk to Durham via Accrington, Northampton and Milton Keynes, to give them the best possible NCS experience.
I’m looking forward to seeing the programme in action and talking to the young people involved, whether they are enjoying the challenges of the outdoors or practising their communications skills in a university environment.
One of the most powerful elements of the programme for me is the social action projects that the young people design and develop, planning out how they will use their time to deliver the most impact in the community. Last year saw young people planning some amazing projects and really making things happen and I am really keen to see the same level of passion and commitment this year.
This summer also sees the roll out of our Top Tutors agency into Birmingham, building on the success of our London agency. We will be offering one to one tuition as well as a tuition centre at our Digbeth HQ. Plans for the year involve developing some of our great UFA programmes for use with our tutors, young people and their families.
And working with schools, our UFA national development team are already planning some great events for September. On September 16th we will be celebrating the end of our Mercer’s funded Peer Tutoring project in Walsall, so if you would like to find out more about our Peer Tutoring programme please click here.
We’ll also be showcasing our Peer Tutoring programme working with our competition winner, Moseley School, just a week later on September 23rd. There will be a chance to talk to the staff and young people involved in the training at the school. To book your place click here.
There’s still chance to win a Young Researcher and Evaluator programme in our latest competition, click here for more details and to download your entry form.
